Andhra Pradesh Home Minister V. Anitha has said that YSRCP president Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy was provided with Z-plus security cover during his Rentapalla tour.
Earlier, the former Chief Minister claimed that he was not provided with the Z-plus security cover during the Rentapall visit and blamed it for the death of a YSRCP sympathiser who was run over by his convoy.
“We provided the former Chief Minister security on par with Z-plus category protectee. Even as the police cautioned Mr. Jagan Mohan Reddy against holding the roadshow, he continued the show for about six hours,” the Home Minister told the media on Monday.
The Home Minister, while speaking to the media on Monday, asserted that the case is being dealt with as per law and that those responsible for the YSRCP sympathiser’s death would be punished.
The Home Minister alleged that the former Chief Minister ‘behaved irresponsibly after the incident. “Even as Singaiah was struggling for life with bleeding injuries, the YSRCP leaders proceeded with the rally without caring for him. Upon information, the police rushed him to hospital, where he died while undergoing treatment,” Ms. Anitha said.
“Had the YSRCP sympathiser been shifted to a hospital on time, he would have been survived,” she said.
Even as two persons died in his recent Sattenapalli tour, Mr. Jagan Mohan Reddy is trying to defend himself, Ms. Anitha said.
