Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) MLC and Telangana Jagruthi president Kalvakuntla Kavitha has taken strong exception to the remarks made against former Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao by current Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy. She suggested that the latter should think before making such comments, given that KCR had led the movement for the creation of Telangana.
Demanding that the State government provide monthly financial assistance of ₹2,500 for women, as promised by the Congress party before the elections, and also double the Aasara pensions, Ms. Kavitha launched a postcard campaign at the Abids post office on Wednesday where the members of Telangana Jagruthi sent postcards to Congress Parliamentary party chairperson Sonia Gandhi, reminding her of the poll promises.
Speaking on the occasion, Ms. Kavitha questioned whether Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy, who challenged the BRS chief and Opposition leader to a debate in the Legislative Assembly on Polavaram-Banakacherla project proposed by the Andhra Pradesh government, is ready for a debate on the poll promises made by the Congress in the Assembly. She claimed that there was no issue of Banakacherla in 2016, accusing Mr. Revanth Reddy of speaking lies. She also advised the Chief Minister to act with decorum while making accusations against KCR.
