We Wonder Women and Prompt Infotech, in association with Karpagam Academy of Higher Education, will jointly present the 5th edition of ‘Freedom run: cyber crime against women’ on August 10.
The initiative is aimed at raising awareness on violence against women, particularly cybercrime, and to promote safety and empowerment of women in all aspects of their lives. The event features a 10-km awareness run, along with a 5-km run and a 5-km walk, all beginning and ending at V.O.C. Park in the city from 5.30 a.m. to 8.30 a.m.
City Police Commissioner A. Saravana Sundar, who launched the official poster of the Freedom Run, said that participation in the run not only promotes physical health, but also sends a strong message that cybercrime against women will not be tolerated.
N. Sundaravadivelu, District Governor of Rotary Coimbatore, launched the official Freedom Run T-shirt, while Kavitha Gopalakrishnan, Assistant Governor of Rotary Coimbatore, unveiled the Freedom Run medal.
Sankarraj Subramanian, Cybercrime Investigator and founder and CEO of Prompt Infotech, invited corporates, students, and the general public to support this cause and work together to empower women in their fight for safety and equal rights. The funds raised through this run will be used for the education and development of underprivileged girl children.
Subitha Justin, managing trustee of We Wonder Women, also took part.
