The Kochi City police arrested two persons allegedly with 106 grams of MDMA from the South Janatha Road near Palarivattom.
The arrested were identified as Aswin Vijay, 23, of Adoor in Pathanamthitta, and Akbar Khan, 24, of Kottayam. District Police Chief (Kochi City) Putta Vimaladitya received a tip-off that MDMA has been brought to South Janatha Road for sale.
The suspected MDMA was seized from the shoulder bags and pockets of the accused. They were nabbed while allegedly returning after purchasing the suspected drug from wholesale dealers in Bengaluru. The accused used to sell the drug, targeting youngsters in hostels in Kaloor and Palarivattom. A probe is under way to trace the source of the suspected drug, the police said.
