A 21-year-old engineering graduate was arrested by Kotturpuram All Women Police for threatening and abusing a 20-year-old woman college student in Chennai on Saturday (June 28, 2025).
A senior official of Chennai police said the woman pursues postgraduation course at Anna University. According to her complaint, she got acquainted with Ramkumar, a native of Pudukottai, when she was studying with him a few years ago in a private engineering college located on Rajiv Gandhi Salai.
During that time, the woman and Ramkumar had taken several photos together. For the past six months, she avoided him due to personal reasons. Last week, Ramkumar harassed her by making repeated phone calls; he went to her college campus and abused her. He also threatened to post the photos in social media.
Based on the complaint filed in the Kotturpuram AWPS, the police officials arrested Ramkumar and sent him to judicial custody.
