Health Minister Ma. Subramanian on Sunday inaugurated healthcare facilities in Palani, Kodaikanal and other places in Dindigul district to the tune of ₹21.64 crore. He also provided welfare assistance to beneficiaries in the district.
The Minister inaugurated newly constructed buildings established in the district at a cost ₹10.59 crore and laid the foundation for new buildings to be constructed at a cost of ₹11.05 crore. Palani MLA I. P. Senthil Kumar, Vedasandur MLA S. Gandhirajan and other officials were present at the event.
He inaugurated the Digital X-ray facility at the Government Hospital in Palani established at a cost of ₹79 lakh, Emergency Care and Recovery Centre at the Government Hospital in Oddanchatram and Urban Primary Health Centre in Kodaikanal. The Minister also inaugurated various other healthcare facilities across the district and inspected the functioning of existing healthcare facilities.
He said that healthcare facilities were being improved in all districts. In this regard, additional infrastructure facilities were being established in Dindigul district. The Minister also inaugurated healthcare facilities in the district and inspected existing healthcare facilities in Dindigul and Madurai districts on Saturday.
On Saturday, a new CT Scan facility at a cost of ₹2.20 crore and a digital X-ray facility at a cost of ₹61.20 lakh was established at Dindigul Government Medical College Hospital. A fluoroscopy facility was also established at the hospital, he said, adding that the hospital already had a CT Scan facility.
However, considering the influx of patients and the requirement, additional infrastructure facilities, including the new CT Scan facility and digital X-ray facility, were established at the hospital, he said.
Minister for Rural Development I. Periyasamy, Minister for Food and Civil Supplies R. Sakkarapani, Dindigul MP R. Sachithanantham, Dindigul Collector S. Saravanan, Dindigul Government Medical College Hospital Dean R. Suganthy Rajakumari and other officials were present at the event.
