The Kukatpally police of Cyberabad registered a criminal case following a complaint lodged by a person alleging that one of the two milk packets purchased by him was spoilt.
He stated that while the milk in one packet was good, foul odour emanating from the second one raised suspicions about its quality. When his wife boiled the milk in two separate bowls, it turned curdled and sour.
The senior citizen said that he and his family members would have suffered serious health issues if they had consumed the milk without noticing the smell. Based on his complaint, the police registered a case under sections 125 (rash and negligent act endangering human life), 275 (selling or offering food or drink that is harmful) and 274 (punishment for adulteration of food) of BNS.
