Monsoon is expected to arrive in Delhi by Wednesday(June 25, 2025) or Thursday (Junr 26), as per the India Meteorological Department (IMD), and more rains are expected during the week.
“Conditions are favourable for further advance of Southwest monsoon over some more parts of Rajasthan, Punjab, Haryana; Delhi and remaining parts of West Uttar Pradesh during next 36 hours,” the IMD said in a statement Tuesday issued at 2 pm on Tuesday and it was repeated in the 8:30 pm statement.
The IMD had earlier predicted that the monsoon was likely to reach Delhi by June 25.
Meanwhile, despite a yellow alert for Tuesday, the Safdarjung weather station, which is considered the city’s representation observatory, recorded only 4.1 mm of rainfall during 24 hours ending at 8:30 am on Tuesday and no rainfall from 8:30 am to 5:30 am.
Light to moderate rainfall is likely on Wednesday with winds up to 40 km/hr and a yellow alert has also been issued, as per the IMD. Rains are expected every day till June 30.
